Crossbones was a great show, but never caught on or had the popularity of shows like Black Sails. Set in the 1700s. The story line is based on Blackbeard (Edward Teach) and his new society in which he is a Commodore. Self promoted from Captain, Blackbeard fights a constant battle with various mental ailments and enemies, some real and some imagined. Actor John Malkovich puts an interesting new twist on the Blackbeard character which has been portrayed by numerous actors over the years. The show first aired on May 30th, 2014 and ran for nine episodes. Definitely worth watching if you like pirate stuff!
